One of life’s greatest treasures, is life! On top of being able to capture the many milestones we all experience, I have had the blessing and honor to capture babies making their way earth-side. Now I know what you are automatically thinking! “ Kyra you just point your camera ‘up there’ and snap pictures?” I promise you birth session are nothing what you have in mind; in fact there are the most beautiful and emotional series of photographs a family can have. As an artist we see life’s experiences; including birth, as just that ART! I had the continued pleasure to capture the first months of this clients 3rd addition. I have followed them as their family has grown, and recently they gave me permission to share this journey with you as well. 

Birth sessions take a unique skill, and love for art. You defiantly have to be able to see beauty among the chaos, and an eye for detail. More than anything I bring a sense of calm, birth knowledge, and hospital understanding to my sessions. I have found myself on many occasions stepping into assist the parents, acting as a doula, and on one rare occasion (that I hope never happens again) catching the baby! Thankfully Lucas was nothing but a beautiful journey here. Watching the couple support each other and Lucas making his earthly debut was so emotional.
