Despite the sudden changes that so many couples had to make as COVID struck in 2020, Cherrisse and Darrious decided that they would still make their fairytale wedding happen; just with some new changes. After shooting their stunning luxury seaside wedding; I was reminded that love not only conquers all, but it will withstand even the most trying of circumstance. Within 5 month the couple was able to plan, organize, and execute a stunning cliff side micro wedding. The location was hands down-my most amazing, gorgeous, fall out your seat, and drop your jaw venue to shoot at. Way out on the coast of Monterey County the Villa Viscaaya sits on the bluff overlooking the Monterey Bay. Guest arrive to see a ravishing grand entrance in which one of the 3 main entree ways was styled for a small intimate reception. The luxurious villa of 13,000 square feet provided space not only to create the dreamy portraits, a fabulous wedding, but also with 7 bedrooms across 4 levels allowed guest to stay the night; all while maintaining social distancing guidelines! 

The couple didn’t just put time into preparing a micro wedding, but also focus in on the the details of their special day. The bride held a beautiful bouquet full of blush and ivory florals, and her bridesmaid styled a unique floral arrangement with similar colors; that the bride herself designed and created. Throughout the decor each piece had just the right amount of bling wether it glistened on the wedding cake, within her hair piece, or across the table settings. Everything sparkled and shined just like the couples irreplaceable smiles. The micro wedding was anything but small especially when it came to the details, custom arrangements and magnificent coastal venue. 

The couple tied the knot right at the cliff over looking the warm sun and slow rolling waves as their family and friends looked on in person and many through zoom. As Darrious, stood at the ‘alter’ waiting for her to walk down the stairs we all started to tear up a bit. Watching them have their first dance on shinning marble floors under a beautiful chandelier, as we ate delicious small bites. However, as the sunset and we captured their portraits as the sunset on the cliff and the beach waves tossed! WOW, I can only say what a beautiful couple. For that day in September, for a brief moment we all forgot about COVID, because despite the odds and times stacked against weddings in 2020; this couple truly proved that LOVE WINS.
