Oakland Redwoods Maternity | A Love Story Continued
One of the privileges I experience in the industry is watching families grow. Seeing couples meet, fall in love, the bliss of a wedding day, and the delight of a new bundle of joy! One such experience is that of the Smiths. (Yes the husband is my cousin and that may make me a tad bias). These two met a few years ago and it feels like I was just down at the beach shooting their engagement sessions, and trying to bribe Mr. Smith into getting in the ice cold water. (Hey you guys should know by now; Anything for the Shot!) From there I found myself taking photos for their big day; and speeding down the road to finish their golden hour photos in 15 mins. I will never forget that day because it was a whirlwind, and yet you couldn’t even tell from the stunning images. Now when the time came a year or so later when I heard this lovely pair was expecting!!!! Of course I was ecstatic to have another sweet baby in the family, but also to see this lovely pair expand their family. One of things the loved to do was hike. Right above the city of Oakland is the most beautiful trails and redwoods. Many people feel they need to take that long traffic filled drive to The City, and never realize the gems they have in their own backyard. The shoot turned out to be the perfect intimate backdrop among the lush green grass and rich trees. Below are just a small glimpse at the highlights of their maternity session, and I may have slipped a few from the early days of their love journey.
