Seven Years Later | Family Session
It’s been nearly seven years since I first worked with this lovely family. Since then their so lovely girls have become young women and are setting out on their own courses in life. Back when I first photographed their family I was in a quite similar place. Fresh out of High School trying to navigate what I really wanted to do in life, and questioning if this hobby really could be made into a career. It’s amazing to look back and see the growth on each side. (I am too embarrassed to show you their first session with me, just believe me when I say skill has HIGHLY improved.) however, I am so grateful for they took a chance on me, and gave me a place to start believing in myself.
An afternoon on the coast was the best option for this ocean loving family. The fun and unique part about California beaches especially Northern California is the wide range of lighting scenarios you may encounter. The weekend before I was shooting a couples engagement sessions and the sun was high in the sky, and the beach was actually warm with hot sand under our feet. However, when returning the following weekend with this sweet family I was faced with overcast and the occasional gust of wind. I was so thankful though as I shot most their session in film and the overcast made for easy settings and creamy undertones! A few of my favorites are highlighted below!
